AWARD WINNING NOVEL:

Everything changed on November 5, 2011, the night of a horrific attack by human traffickers, outside the state of Zamfara, northwestern Nigeria. They killed nineteen villagers, left a bloody trail of mutilated victims, and girls snatched from their families. Asha, kidnapped, was among the survivors. Little did she realize then that this heinous ordeal would mark the beginning of an extraordinary journey. One whose conclusion would prove to be merely the start of something unimaginable.

A Word From The Author

I had a story to tell…

As I sat down to write, there was only one story I wanted to tell. My mind fixated on the pressing need to illuminate the horrors of human trafficking. Crafting a captivating yet gritty tale, inspired by real-life events, I wanted to depict the personal story of a courageous young woman’s escape from the clutches of evil. Her journey, rife with danger and despair, is as a testament to the indomitable human spirit, urging us to believe in the extraordinary strengths in each of us even amidst the darkest odds.

….This is a story of survival, pain, fear, and hope. It is a story that stays with the listener well after the book ends, for days and weeks. Writing this review has been very difficult as I will remain haunted by the pain, fear, and yes, even hope for months to come.

The narrator, Nene Nwoko did an excellent job of performing this audiobook. Nene Nwoko made sure the listener experienced Asha’s journey fully with her unique voice for each character, her energy, her ability to project the needed emotions, and more. She spoke clearly, and expressively with a strong passion. I have not had the pleasure of hearing Nene Nwoko before but hope to do so again!
